NANCY ANNIE HYDE January 6, 1931 - July 6, 2016 "Ach Aye"... on July 6, 2016 Nancy Annie Hyde of Toronto passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Albert Mackrel, Armagh, Northern Ireland and her husband of 54 years, Noel William Hyde. Nancy is survived by her daughters; Kym and Lynn (Rod), her three grandchildren; Rory, Allie and Claire and her older brother, Bert Mackrel. She will be missed by numerous friends in Toronto, Brantford, Edmonton and Northern Ireland. Nancy was born in Armagh, Northern Ireland and was raised in a military family which allowed her to live in various locations during her youth including India, Hong Kong and Egypt. Eventually she returned home where she met Noel. In 1950 they immigrated to Canada, married and started their family adventure while living in London, Ontario, Toronto, Dallas, Texas and a few retirement years in Venice, Florida. Nancy was a thoughtful, caring lady who personified grace and kindness. She enjoyed many things including music, dancing, old movies and had a great eye for fashion. But nothing gave her greater joy than simply being with her "loved ones" listening to the "craic" and having a good laugh. The family thanks the staff at St. Michael's Hospital for their tender care over the past few weeks. A special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Mike's for allowing her last few days to be in comfort and peace while maintaining her dignity. In July 2017 Nancy will return to her beloved Northern Ireland and a funeral service and celebration of her life will be held. In lieu of flowers, Nancy would be honoured by a donation made in her name to the charity of your choice. God bless.
